OXFORD, Miss.- A dead man and another injured man were found at the Ole Miss Motel on Saturday night.
The Oxford Police Department confirmed Henry Chandler Jenkis, 39, was found dead. Also in the room was Donald Ludie Lassiter of Alabama.
Lassiter is still in police custody with potential charges, weighing on the outcome of the autopsy.
A welfare check was called into police around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived at the motel, Jenkins and Lassiter were in the room. Jenkins was pronounced dead and Lassiter was taken to the hospital. Police did say his injuries were serious.
