RANKIN COUNTY- On Saturday evening, May 6, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department responded to a UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) accident in the Monterey Community in Rankin County.
Deputies and the Monterey Fire Department were called to the 200 block of Maple Street. They found a man lying in the roadway nearby, the recreational vehicle on the side of the road.
First responders found no vital signs, but attempted to treat him on scene. However, they were not able to revive him.
Witnesses say he was standing up on the back of the UTV while it was moving, lost his balance, and fell out of the rear of the vehicle. He landed on his feet but fell backwards hitting his head on the concrete.
The 34 year old man’s identity has not been released and the accident is still under investigation.
