A Guatemalan man has been arrested for looking under the stalls in the women’s restroom of the D’Iberville Walmart.
According to a release from the D’Iberville Police Department, Jesler Jairo Perez, 20, was charged with three counts of voyeurism after the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 3.
Upon officers arriving to the Walmart Supercenter on Sangani Boulevard, they spoke with a parent who said her daughter and two other juveniles spotted a man watching them in the women’s restroom. The parent then ran into the restroom and found Perez fastening his pants. With the help of another patron, they were able to detain Perez until law enforcement arrived.
Perez was booked at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer was also placed on him, which means he cannot bond out immediately.
