JACKSON, Miss.- A couple was robbed, kidnapped, and the woman was raped Sunday outside their apartment complex in Jackson.
The woman told police when she was getting out of her boyfriend’s vehicle she was approached by two men with guns forcing her to give them money.
The woman told the men she had nothing to give them and was then forced into the backseat of her boyfriend’s car where one of the men sexually assaulted her.
Police told WAPT, the guys then found her boyfriend and forced their way into the victim’s apartment. The couple was robbed from the apartment and then forced by gunpoint to get back into the vehicle to drive to banks and withdraw money from ATM machines.
After they withdrew the money, the men dropped the couple off at the Best Value Inn off I-55 North and took off in the couple’s 2009 silver Ford Fusion.
Detectives identified Joseph McDougle, 29, as one of the two robbers. McDougle was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of armed robbery of an individual, auto theft and rape. Police are still searching for the second robber and the stolen car.
