A man is behind bars after being accused of stealing a four-wheeler and motorcycle from two different homes in Monroe County.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department reports that an investigation was opened into 24-year-old Dalton Carter after a four-wheeler was stolen from a home in Smithville. One week later, a Harley Davidson motorcycle went missing from another home within a nearby proximity of the first theft.
Deputies received information and a tip from a North Mississippi narcotics agent and were able to locate the stolen motorcycle at Carter’s Amory residence. Authorities were then able to track down the four-wheeler at another location where it had allegedly been sold for $50.
Carter was charged with two counts of motor vehicle theft and was handed a $10,000 bond. A hold has been placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
