JONES COUNTY, Miss.- A Jones County resident is being charged with three counts of statutory rape involving his girlfriend’s seven-year-old daughter. Jones County Sheriff Alex Hodge says that a female filed a report around 7:15 Friday morning alleging that she caught her boyfriend having sexual intercourse with her daughter.
Jones County deputies made the arrest at the home shared by the victim, her mother, and the suspect. They arrested 24-year-old Luis Alvarado, and then took him to the Jones County Detention Center.
The victim was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center, where a rape kit was conducted.
Sheriff Hodge said that Alvarado admitted to investigators to having sexual intercourse with the young child, as well as admit to doing it on two other occasions.
“The investigation led us to a confession by him stating that he had sexual intercourse with the female victim as far back as a year,” Hodge said. “He confessed to three different occassions where he had sexual intercourse with this minor child.”
He had his initial appearance in court Monday morning. He has been charged with three counts of statutory rape, which carries with it a 20-to-life sentence per charge. His bond was set at $50,000 per charge.
The Sheriff also added that Alvarado was an illegal alien as well.
