WAYNE COUNTY, Miss.- A Waynesboro man wanted for kidnapping and robbery has been caught and arrested.
Waynesboro Police Department told WDAM they arrested 26-year-old Renard Oneal Russell Tuesday.
Russell apparently shot into a home and kidnapped a person at gunpoint before taking that person to another county.
Police said during a traffic stop, Russell jumped out of the vehicle and took off on foot. He was caught later hiding behind a nearby church.
Russell has been charged with three counts of felony kidnapping, burglary, and possession of a weapon. An additional charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling is currently pending.
Russell is currently being held at the Wayne County Detention Center.
