A man has been arrested and faces more than 20 counts of animal cruelty in north Mississippi.
On Sunday, officers with the Corinth Police Department took Jonathan Hurst into custody after authorities discovered several “severely malnourished” dogs at the man’s Pleasant Grove Road residence.
Per a report from WTVA, police discovered around eight unhealthy dogs outside the property and at least 20 canines within the home. The Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter arrived at the scene to assist law enforcement in recovering the dogs.
The shelter is asking the public for donations to aid in providing essentials for the malnourished animals. Donations can be made here.
Hurst’s bond has been set at $21,600.
