A Corinth man accused of killing his girlfriend at a local apartment complex has turned himself in to authorities.
Demario McGaha was wanted for the incident that took place at an apartment on Highway 356 in Rienzi on Tuesday morning. At approximately 5:10 a.m., deputies responded to the scene where they found LaKeisha Fields, 36, dead.
Police then spent the next day and a half searching the area for McGaha. They found his white Mercury Grand Marquis on County Road 418, but he wasn’t in it which meant he could have been on foot or picked up by another person.
On Wednesday at 4 p.m., McGaha turned himself in at the Alcorn County Jail. He and Fields are said to have been in a relationship prior to the shooting. McGaha had previously been on house arrest.
