JACKSON, Miss.–A third day of extreme heat for Mississippi was expected Wednesday. The top two thirds of the state have been put under a heat advisory, with a possible heat index of 105 or higher. But, strong storms could keep the heat down a little.
Those storms were expected from the south Delta, south to just below Hattiesburg, covering southwest Mississippi, as well.
The entire state has a chance for afternoon storms and temps will cool off a great deal for Thursday, with highs only in the low 90s. By Saturday, afternoon temps will be back in the upper 80s.
