The Madison-Ridgeland Academy community is mourning after one of its students died in a car crash on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Robert Noah was driving south on Highway 7 in Grenada County around 3:15 p.m. when his 2023 Subaru Crosstrek collided with another vehicle. The 18-year-old was a senior at the private school outside of Jackson.
The other vehicle involved, a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, was being driven by 35-year-old Peaches McMurry, of Batesville. While McMurry was transported to a hospital, a passenger in her vehicle, 74-year-old Lizzie Tucker, of McMurry, Texas, was also killed in the crash. Noah was pronounced dead on the scene.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy released the following statement on social media:
“Words fail to adequately express the immense grief that our MRA family has experienced in the loss of our friend and classmate, Robert Noah.
We pray specifically for the Noah family, along with our students – especially the senior class, and our MRA faculty and staff.
As we navigate through this period of grief, we cling tightly to Psalm 23:6: ‘Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.’
May the Lord of perfect peace be near as we mourn the loss of this precious student together.”
The crash is under investigation.
