The Minor League Baseball season is less than a week away and both the Mississippi Braves and Biloxi Shuckers are ready to welcome fans back to the ballpark.
With vaccination efforts continuing to ramp up across the state, the M-Braves announced that Trustmark Park in Pearl will operate at 100% capacity to start the 2021 season.
“After careful consultation with the Governor’s office, the Atlanta Braves, and Major League Baseball, we are pleased to announce that Trustmark Park will be open to 100% seating capacity beginning on Tuesday for our long-awaited 2021 Opening Day,” M-Braves vice president and general manager Pete Laven said. “Stadium COVID-19 protocols will remain in place to ensure the health and safety of our fans, players, coaches, and employees.
The Braves open the upcoming campaign against Pensacola on Tuesday.
The Shuckers announcement states that MGM Park will operate “near full capacity” with the exception of an MLB-mandated buffer zone around the dugouts and playing area. Opening the season Tuesday on the road, Biloxi will play their first home game on May 11th against the aforementioned Braves.
Both stadiums will continue to comply with MLB’s COVID-19 protocols which mandate masks for fans. Masks can be removed while eating or drinking.
