JACKSON, Miss.–The lowest gas prices in the country, at least for today, are in the Magnolia State. This comes as the national average has fallen a mere two cents over the past three weeks, and even the lowest prices are nothing to celebrate.
“Chicago is the highest-$4.48, and the lowest Jackson, Mississippi at $3.20,” said oil analyst Trilby Lundberg. “In the case of Chicago the price is up 24 cents from two weeks ago, far different from what the U.S. average showed.”
The cheapest gas was in the Jackson area, with a station in Brandon at $2.95. Last week the cheapest had been in Southaven at $3.04.
