A Mississippi Gulf Coast woman is behind bars on a litany of charges, with the worst being the neglect of an infant.
On Thursday, a traffic stop for reckless driving near Pineville Road and West Old Pass Road in Long Beach led to the arrest of Kathryn Robbins. While police investigated the offense, it was discovered that Robbins had allegedly left a 3-month-old child at her residence unattended.

Law enforcement officers responded to the residence and located the unattended child inside. The child was assessed by medical personnel and transported to Memorial Hospital for a wellness check.
Robbins was handcuffed and charged with reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a felony count of child neglect. She was given a $26,000 bond.
Child Protective Services released the infant to extended family after assessing the situation. Robbins will appear in court for her traffic and drug charges on May 21. No court date has been set for the charges related to child neglect at this time.
