The Long Beach High School marching band has been selected to participate in the 2025 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C.
The honor was extended to only 13 high school marching bands nationwide with the parade taking place on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a four-week-long cultural festival going until June 30, celebrating the arrival of spring and the 1912 gift to the U.S. of 3,000 cherry trees from Japan.

As part of the colorful demonstration, the Long Beach band will perform alongside dazzling floats, towering helium balloons, and a star-studded lineup that includes special guests like Princess Ariel, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World. Some of the musical performers for the parade will include Asher HaVon, winner of NBC’s The Voice season 25, and Grammy-nominated singer Kathy Sledge.
The parade will follow Constitution Avenue going northwest, stretching from 7th to 17th Streets. While thousands of attendees can experience the excitement in person, the parade will be broadcast on the festival’s YouTube channel.
