WARREN COUNTY, MISS– A precautionary lockdown at Warren Central has been lifted. No evidence of a gunshot or any other threat was found.
A gunshot behind a building is what an officer hears on the Warren Central campus before he makes the call to local police. The school is on lockdown until the source of that sound can be found.
Sheriff Martin Pace tells WAPT that they’re taking their time surveying the area around the school, which is made up mostly of woods.
The decision to lockdown is precautionary, says the sheriff, until it is perceived that there is no threat.
