JACKSON, Miss.- Traveling for the holiday? The Mississippi Highway Patrol will be out there watching out for you.
Part of their 2016 Thanksgiving Travel Enforcement Period, the Line To Line campaign, began Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Because traffic generally increases during the holiday season, state troopers will be patrolling I-55 all the way from the Tennessee State Line to the Louisiana State Line.
They will be patrolling for distracted driving, reckless driving, and speeding. Troopers also remind you to buckle up and secure your child’s safety belts and car seats appropriately. They will be enforcing those laws.
State Troopers will be doing their part to ensure a safe roadway for all travelers this Thanksgiving.
