JACKSON, Miss. – First-term Governor Phil Bryant will have a campaign opponent in the republican primary.
Mitch Young of Lamar County filed papers with the Mississippi Republican Party Thursday to take on Bryant. Two democrats are also running for the office. They are Vicki Slater of Madison and Robert Gray of Jackson. The qualifying deadline is 5 pm Friday.
