Santa Ana, CALIFORNIA – Some Southern Californian lawyers say the Mississippi state flag has no place at the Civic Center in the city of Santa Ana where all 50 state flags hang. Mississippi is the last of the states to still have the confederate stars and bars displayed on the flag. The Orange County Bar Association claims it is a symbol of racism and hatred and they want it taken down.
Mississippi voted to have the flag changed to a stars and stripes design about 13 years ago, but fewer than 40 percent of Mississippians voted yes.
