GULFPORT, Miss. – A lawsuit has been dismissed by a federal judge against the IP Casino Resort in Gulfport. Back in 2009, when the casino was known as the Imperial Palace, employees kept severing Bryan Glenn free drinks, even though he was falling down drunk. After that, he had a few more drinks. He was found dead from alcohol poisoning and prescription drugs in his hotel room the next day.
According to Mississippi law, businesses are liable if they serve alcohol to someone who is visibly drink and then kills or injures someone else. Attorneys argued that the law is not intended for the intoxicated patrons themselves.
