Law enforcement agencies across Mississippi are searching for an escaped inmate.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections reported Monday that Gregory Trigg, 45, is at large. The inmate is said to have escaped from the Mississippi State Penitentiary, also known as Parchman.
Trigg, described as a baldheaded Black male standing six feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, was in the process of serving 61 years behind bars for nine sentences.
His lengthy jail stint followed convictions for kidnapping, residential burglary, conspiracy, illegally possessing a firearm, vehicle burglary, and vehicle theft. These crimes were committed in Madison, Rankin, and Scott counties.
Officials urge the public to notify local police immediately if Trigg is spotted.
