The last day for the Mississippi State Fair is this Sunday, October 14th.
Security for the fair is provided by multiple agencies. The Jackson Police Department (JPD), Hinds County Sheriff’s Department (HCSO), the Mississippi State Fair Commission and the State Capitol Police will combine resources for the two-week run of the fair.
In addition, officials from the Jackson Fire Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, Mississippi Department of Corrections, AMR, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, Hinds EOC, Mississippi State Department of Health, Department of Homeland Security, Mississippi Tort Claims Board, National Weather Service, Mississippi Fusion Center and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are working together to ensure a safe fair.
