For those looking for a major league experience while visiting a minor-league park, there’s an opportunity to do that right here in Mississippi.
USA Today released its list of “Best Minor League Ballparks” on Wednesday, with Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi being ranked sixth by the newspaper’s editors when looking at the top MiLB venues.

Across the street from the Beau Rivage Resort on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Keesler Federal Park has been home to the Biloxi Shuckers since 2015. When catching a game, fans can choose from around 4,500 seats ranging from suites to spots right behind home plate. Fans can also head to the right field beach area, which features a tiki bar, splash pad, and beach chairs.” – USA Today editors
Beating Keesler Federal on the list were Jackie Robinson Ballpark (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Toyota Field (Madison, Ala.), Sahlen Field (Buffalo, N.Y.), Polar Park (Worcester, Mass.), and Modern Woodmen Park (Davenport, Iowa). Keesler Federal was ranked higher than Southwest University Park (El Paso, Texas), Truist Field (Charlotte, N.C.), Huntington Park (Columbus, Ohio), and Victory Field (Indianapolis, Ind.). The full list can be found here.
Keesler Federal, which has hosted concerts and other events throughout the offseason, will open back up to Biloxi Shucker fans next month. The team’s first homestand will open on Tuesday, April 8, against the Columbus Clingstones. The Shuckers, who serve as the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, made the postseason a year ago for the first time in four years.
