After it was confirmed last month that two suitors had emerged as frontrunners to take over naming rights for the former MGM Park in Biloxi, we now know who it will be.
According to government officials, the city of Biloxi is planning to sign a contract with Keesler Federal Credit Union as early as next week to hand over the title sponsorship to the Mississippi-based business. When the ink dries, Keesler will have ousted Shuckers Baseball, LLC for the deal.
The offer put on the table by Keesler was $150,000 per year – $25,000 more than what the city of Biloxi was initially hoping for – over five years. Shuckers Baseball, LLC offered $90,000 per year over 10 years to name the ballpark Shuckers Stadium.
Once the deal is signed, Keesler will receive signage on both entrances as well as on top of the scoreboard. This comes just in time for the 2024 Minor League Baseball season, which is set to begin for the Shuckers on April 5.
