Keeping Your Kids Safe: Internet Sex Sting Puts Two in Jail

MERIDIAN, Miss.–Using the internet to try to meet children for sex is the charge against two men from Lauderdale County who were arrested this week. Deputies say the men thought they were talking to underage girls, but they were actually chatting with investigators.

Alie Overton, 41, and Robert Spears, 49, were picked up by Lauderdale deputies and charged with computer luring.

Both men got a $20,000 bond, reports WTOK.

Deputies in Lauderdale County have recently stepped up their efforts to catch online predators and warn anybody who uses the internet that you never really know who you’re talking to, and that the net should not be thought of as a safe place for pedophiles to do their deeds any longer.
