Keeping Your Kids Safe: Child Pornography Lands DeSoto Man in Prison

HERNANDO, Miss.–Child pornography on his computer has landed Jeremy Gregg, 43, of Hernando, in prison for five years. Atty. Gen. Jim Hood said Gregg will also not be allowed to own a computer or smart phone for ten years after he gets out.

Gregg pleaded guilty Friday to having multiple images and videos. Hood said Gregg used the words “pre-teen hard core” (pthc) to search for videos and images online. The case was investigated by the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with assistance from the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.

Gregg was sentenced to 10 years with five years to serve and 10 years of post-release supervision.  Gregg was ordered to pay $1,000 in fines, $1,000 to the children’s trust fund and must register as a sex offender upon release.

“It is our duty to protect our most vulnerable residents and to make sure those who harm our children are held accountable,” said Hood. “We will continue to go after these predators to keep them away from our children.”
