LUCEDALE, Miss. – A George County man has pleaded guilty to sex crimes against children.
Gordon Stewart, 41, was sentenced to 30 years of day-for-day in prison after his admission to 12 counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14 and 14 counts of touching a child for lustful purposes. According to a statement from the district attorney’s office, the victims were ages 8 and 9 when the abuse started.
“I hope this 30 year sentence will not only protect children from further harm, but also send a message to those individuals who prey upon children in this community to leave our children alone,” said District Attorney Tony Lawrence.
