Keep It Clean: Inmate Uses Soapy Water to Escape

VICKSBURG, Miss. Inmate Jonathan Clark had experience in assault, say deputies, and he used that experience when he got away from the Warren County lock-up early Sunday morning.

Clark, who was in on robbery and assault charges, hid in the jailer’s blind spot. That’s what Sheriff Martin Pace told media. When that jailer rounded the corner, Clark dowsed him in the face with a bucket of soapy water that was being used to clean the place.

Pace said that’s when Clark was able to get the keys and get out, running off into the night.

The guard had to go to the hospital for treatment.

If you have any info on Clark and where he is, you’re asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS.

Meanwhile, in Smith County, inmate Terry Bynum was back in custody Monday morning after his escape from that county lockup last week. Bynum scaled a razor wire fence to get out. He got away along with two other inmates, who have also since been caught. Bynum was the last one.
