Millsaps College has a new leader of its athletics program in Justin LeBlanc – a familiar face with an established track record of success as a coach for the Majors.
In addition to serving as the head women’s basketball coach since 2016, LeBlanc has also worked as an associate athletic director in the athletic department.
“Justin embodies the values and spirit of Millsaps,” Millsaps president Frank Neville said. “His demonstrated success as both a coach and administrator, combined with his deep connection to our institution as an alumnus, makes him the ideal candidate to lead our athletic department into its next chapter.”
The 2006 Millsaps alum recently led the women’s basketball program to their first Division III NCAA Tournament appearance since 1996, setting a program record for single-season wins in the process. He also became the school’s winningest women’s basketball coach upon securing his 130th victory on November 30, 2024.
LeBlanc’s success has been punctuated by three Southern Athletic Association Coach of the Year awards since he was hired in 2016.
“Millsaps athletics has been a huge part of my life for nearly two decades. From my time as a student-athlete to coaching and administration, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of our athletic department and its programs,” LeBlanc said, noting his gratitude to Neville for trusting him with the new position. “In this role, I look forward to helping our student-athletes and coaches achieve new heights on the field and in the classroom.”
LeBlanc, who also holds a master’s in sports administration from Southern Miss, takes over the post after previous athletic director Aaron Pelch stepped down from to take the position of vice president of enrollment at the college in Jackson.
