JACKSON, Miss.- The Jackson Police Department has taken to Twitter to warn residents of a recent scam.
SCAM ALERT: Do NOT respond to or attempt to make payments to a caller stating a warrant has been issued for failure to report for Jury Duty!

According to Twitter, JPD said a caller has been contacting people telling them that a warrant was issued for their arrest for not reporting to jury duty.
This is for Hinds County residents. Caller requests to put money on a card at Kroger to pay the bond amount. Caller’s number is 601-908-XXXX https://t.co/xTZtYBoaDE

The caller will then ask for money to be put on a card at Kroger for the bond amount to pay off the warrant. If you receive a phone call of this nature police are warning that it is in fact a scam.
Please report any strange calls you receive to local police.
