COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss.–On Wednesday a Mississippi Highway Patrolman was involved in a violent, one-vehicle wreck.
Trooper Renard Harper was responding to a normal call according to Jones County Deputy Sheriff Jack Armstrong when he crashed and became trapped in his vehicle.
“I’m not sure what happened to cause it,” said Armstrong.
Armstrong said that Harper’s injuries are wide spread and he underwent one surgery Wednesday and another one was planned for Thursday.
“He is in need of blood now,” said Armstrong. “We need people to get out to United Blood Services.”
Any one can go and donate blood specifically for Harper at any United Blood Service according to Armstrong and it doesn’t matter what type of blood.
Apparently the wreck happened on Highway 588 just inside the Covington County line.
