Jockey airlifted to hospital after Neshoba County Fair incident

A horse jockey at the Neshoba County Fair had to be airlifted to Jackson after being injured during a race on Sunday.

Per a report from WTOK, the horse Jordan Goss was on decided to go off track with the rider being slung off. Goss suffered a broken back, several broken ribs, a broken nose, a punctured lung, and multiple lacerations.

Goss was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition.

The horse was uninjured in the incident. Races continued Monday and are planned to run through the end of the fair on Friday, Aug. 2.
