A Jefferson County woman serving time in prison for murdering her husband was found dead in her jail cell on Wednesday night.
According to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, Sarah Jo Peshoff, 41, was discovered unresponsive in her cell around 9:15 p.m. At this time, officials suspect her death was a suicide.
Peshoff was charged with shooting her husband, 43-year-old Leroy Peshoff, in the head at a home on Grainger Road in Roxie less than two weeks ago.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating her death.
