Jackson State has officially been cleared of any wrongdoing by the Southwestern Athletic Conference following allegations of film spying.
Earlier this month, conference officials were made aware of accusations that one of T.C. Taylor’s players informed an Arkansas Pine Bluff that the Tigers had been watching game week practice film of the Golden Lions ahead of the matchup between the two teams.
Jackson State ultimately won the ballgame in a 41-3 blowout. Tiger officials also vehemently denied allegations against the program and worked with the conference to resolve the matter.
The SWAC opened an investigation into the allegations. After reviewing the information received — an IT analysis, written statements from both institutions, individual interviews, and the consultation of legal counsel — the conference did not find enough substantial evidence of unethical conduct on Jackson State’s end.
Meanwhile, on the football side of things, Jackson State (10-2, 8-0 SWAC) is poised to host the conference championship game on Saturday, December 7 at 1 p.m. CT. The Tigers will take on Southern University (7-4, 6-1), a team Taylor’s squad beat handily a couple of months ago.
