Jackson rapper sentenced to 14 years for selling meth out of t-shirt store

A Jackson-based rapper will spend 14 years in federal prison for selling drugs out of his t-shirt store.

According to court documents, 39-year-old Ronald Cobbs was distributing the narcotics at the store located in North Mart Plaza. He was sentenced for possession with intent to distribute more than 37 grams of methamphetamine.

Cobbs was indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty in February 2024.

U.S. Attorney Todd Gee and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw of the Drug Enforcement Administration made the announcement.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Ridgeland Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Keesha Middleton prosecuted the case.
