The Jackson metro will soon have a Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburger.
Known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers, hot dogs, and freshly churned chocolate and vanilla custard, the fast-food joint will open its first central Mississippi location in Flowood on Saturday, Aug. 31. Weekly hours of operation will be 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Freddy’s expansion to Flowood makes for its third location in Mississippi – joining Horn Lake and Olive Branch – and is part of the chain’s plan to open 800 restaurants by 2026. Since its inception in 2002, Freddy’s has opened over 500 locations in 36 states.

The Flowood location is already fully constructed with the grand opening just days away, located at 421 West Pineview Drive right off Lakeland Drive. The 2,549 square-foot restaurant will be able to seat up to 74 guests inside with additional seating on the patio and will offer drive-thru service.
Giesen went on to say that anyone who has not tried a Freddy’s burger will be in for a treat when the newest location opens to the public.
“First-time guests often ask, ‘What makes a Freddy’s steakburger special?’ We start with lean 100 percent ground beef, sprinkle on our famous seasoning, press the patty thin, and sear on a flat-top grill until the edges are deliciously crispy,” Giesen said. “We regularly commend the Original Double, which comes standard with two patties, two slices of cheese, mustard, onion slices, and pickle planks.”
