A Jackson man was arrested for allegedly shooting at a police officer.
According to the Jackson Police Department, the incident happened on Clark Avenue around 6 p.m. on Monday. When an officer responded to the scene after receiving a report of gunshots, 33-year-old Luther Myers fired his weapon at the officer before barricading himself inside a home.

Additional law enforcement responded to the scene, and after a brief standoff, Myers came out of the home and was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
Myers appeared in court on Tuesday and was charged with three counts of being a convicted felon with a firearm, attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, and being in possession of a stolen firearm. His bond was set at $350,000.
