A man has been locked up for allegedly killing his mother in Jackson.
On Wednesday, Jackson police began investigating a homicide that occurred in the 900 block of Carver Street. Detectives learned that the victim, identified as Louise Tornes, was physically assaulted at the location and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives identified 42-year-old Jerry Banks as the suspect in the case. He was arrested by law enforcement on Saturday at 11 a.m. He is charged with murder, burglary of an occupied dwelling, and domestic aggravated assault.
