JACKSON, Miss – The owner of Hal and Mal’s in Jackson is requesting resort status from the city for his business.
Malcom White tells the Clarion Ledger that if the city does move forward and create a resort status for some of the downtown area that he wants to be included. Furthermore, if he isn’t he and his family would move the business somewhere else.
City council says the item will be placed on the agenda for next week and other businesses will be included as well.
The resort status would allow for any business approved to operate 24 hours a day and sell alcohol.
