J.C. Penney Co. has announced that they will be delaying the closer of 138 stores.
The department store founded in 1902 said that the delay in closures is due to more customers visiting their stores. Mississippi has five stores that are expected to close.
Instead of being shut down on July 31, the closure date has now moved to mid-June. Liquidation sales will begin on May 22.
