An investigation has been launched after an officer-involved shooting took place in Olive Branch early Monday morning.
According to a news release, police stopped a driver on Highway 302 near the intersection of Craft-Goodman Frontage Road at 1:43 a.m. That’s when a motorcyclist approached the traffic stop and began yelling at officers. They then left the scene before making a U-turn and began shooting at officers. Police returned gunfire, but the suspect was able to get away.
At this time, no arrests are being reported. No one was injured in the incident.
This is the second officer-involved shooting Mississippi has seen in the last 24 hours after two people were killed and a deputy was injured in Perkinston on Sunday afternoon.
