An investigation has been launched after an inmate was found dead at a Mississippi prison.
According to a release, sheriff’s deputies responded on Tuesday at 11:14 p.m. to the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility regarding an inmate who was housed in a single cell and appeared to be unresponsive.
Upon arrival, deputies and paramedics entered the cell and found an inmate by the name of Daryl Brown unresponsive before pronouncing him dead.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case. The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office said it would not be releasing any more details at this time.
