Officials with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are looking into the death of an inmate after being found unresponsive over the weekend.
On Saturday morning, inmate Brandon Bishop was found unresponsive in his Alcorn County jail cell by prison personnel.
Jailers performed CPR on Bishop before paramedics arrived, later transporting him to a hospital in Corinth where he was pronounced dead.
Bishop had been booked in the jail three days prior for three charges, which included two misdemeanor warrants and for reportedly giving false information.
At this time, officials with the Alcorn Sheriff’s Office do not suspect any foul play as Bishop was housed alone in his cell.
An autopsy will be performed to determine his cause of death.
