Pascagoula, MISS–Ingalls Shipbuilding is adding clinic to the campus in order to provide more healthcare options and access to employees and their families.
If you’re working at Ingalls and sometimes you can get to the doctor, you’ll have less of a problem by July 2015. Ingalls Shipbuilding is adding a family health center to the campus in order to invest in the healthcare of the employees.
Huntington Ingalls Industries Chief Human Resources Officer Bill Ermatinger tells WLOX this is an investment in the future of Ingalls.
“We’re making an investment in each other,” Ermatinger says, “we’re hoping the employees will make an investment in themselves.”
The clinic will be available to nearly 10,000 employees. The easy accessibility to medical care.
“By having an on site health center, this is something that will make it easier for people to get more engaged,” says Ermatinger.
There’s no word yet on the medical provider or the cost of the project, but officials say the medical coverage will be optional and if you’re a contract laborer, you can extend the coverage when the contract is up.
