JACKSON, Miss.- Hyundai is recalling Entourage minivan models that were manufactured from 2007-2008. The recall covers over 41,000 vehicles and is due to hoods that could potentially fly up while being driven.
The company said that if the primary hood latch is released than the secondary latch may not keep the hood in place due to rusting. The rust could cause the latch to remain in the unlatched position, thus causing the potential for a fly up.
So far no accidents have been reported.
Dealers will either replace the secondary latch, or inspect and lubricate it depending on the damage. States where corrosive salt is used to clear the roads have a higher probability of rust effecting the latch.
