Steve Scalise has been discharged from MedStar Washington Hospital on Wednesday.
Fox News reported that Scalise was released after being admitted on June 14 after he was shot during the congressional baseball practice.
The hospital said that he is in “good spirits” and is looking forward to returning to work after rehab.
“Congressman Steve Scalise has made excellent progress in his recovery from a life-threatening gunshot wound six weeks ago,” the hospital said in a statement Wednesday. “Yesterday, he was discharged from MedStar Washington Hospital Center and is now beginning a period of intensive rehabilitation.”
