JACKSON, Miss.- The Mississippi House has thrown out a candidate’s request to unseat Democratic Rep. David Myers of McComb.
The House addressed the issue Wednesday. There was a unanimous vote to toss out the challenge petition that was filed by Tasha Dillon several weeks ago. She argued that the results of the Aug. 4th primary should be invalid due to voting irregularities.
Republican Rep. Mark Baker says that the House has no control over handling a dispute about a party primary, therefore the claims were dismissed reports WLBT.
Dillon is still pursuing a judge to unseat Myers, which would make her the winner in the District 98 Pike and Walthall counties.
