An hours-long police standoff in Madison has come to an end.
According to a source close to the situation, the incident began following a domestic disturbance at a home in the Reserve Crossing subdivision. WLBT later confirmed with members of the Madison Police Department that a man had locked himself inside the house and refused to come out at around 9 a.m.
Eventually, he did surrender without incident and was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation around 1 p.m., the TV station added.
No one was inside the home with the suspect when he surrendered, and no injuries are being reported at this time. The situation is still under investigation as charges could be possible.
