JACKSON, Miss.- There are reports that the hostage situation in South Jackson has officially ended.
This morning the FBI and SWAT teams were on the scene of a hostage situation on Greenview Drive in South Jackson.
In total 15 people have exited the home over the course of several hours including the suspect. Neighbors report that only four people actually lived in the home, the rest were visiting.
Police blocked off all surrounding streets leading up to the home.
A police officer, who wished to remain unnamed told News Mississippi they know who the person still inside the home is, but are not releasing the identity at this time. Early this morning a 9-1-1 call came from someone inside the home claiming to be held against their will. When officers arrived the suspect answered the door and immediately slammed it upon seeing officers.
No injuries have been reported and no charges have yet been filed.
