JACKSON, Miss.- On the heels of the Prius recall for a break malfunction, Honda is recalling their Civic model for a problem with the parking brake.
So far no accidents have been reported but the company said this glitch could prevent electronic parking brakes from working if they’re pressed immediately after turning the ignition off. This flaw could potentially lead to the car rolling away and possibly causing a crash.
The recall is affecting more than 350,000 Honda Civic two door and four door 1.5L turbo and 2.0L vehicles.
Owners will be contacted by the manufacturer and dealerships will fix the glitch for free. For more information on the recall visit National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Honda’s official website.
